
US Deports 205 Indians: Flight Lands in Amritsar Amid Crackdown on Illegal Immigration
205 Indians Deported from US Arrive in Amritsar; Punjab Police Prepares Criminal Records
A U.S. military C-17 aircraft carrying 205 Indian nationals, mostly from Punjab and nearby states, is set to land in Amritsar today. These individuals are being deported as part of the U.S. government’s intensified crackdown on illegal immigration. (NDTV)
In response, Punjab Police have compiled case histories of nearly 100 wanted criminals, including 20 suspected to be residing in the U.S. This effort, led by the Counter-Intelligence Unit, Anti-Narcotics Task Force, and Anti-Gangster Task Force, aims to facilitate their deportation or extradition. Upon arrival at Amritsar airport, authorities will check the backgrounds of the deportees. Those with existing criminal records will be taken into custody. (The Indian Express)
